Abstract

Let f be a newform of weight 2 satisfying some irreducibility condition. We prove that f admits level raising at any prime not in the level. This is done by ignoring the residue characteristic at which the congruence appears. We prove that most of the rational elliptic curves satisfy the irreducibility condition.
